Balanced Body® offers a full range of Pilates instructor training programs, whether you are interested in teaching Pilates Mat classes, Reformer classes or wanting to become a comprehensively trained Pilates instructor.
The Balanced Body® Pilates instructor training program is designed to create thoughtful, creative and successful Pilates teachers. The curriculum emphasizes the principles underlying each exercise. Our faculty members have a wide variety of Pilates backgrounds from classical to contemporary to fitness and bring their exceptional depth of experience to the training.
The program is designed in modules so you can take your first course now and continue your training next week, next month or next year. Each module is self contained so you can take them as quickly or as slowly as your schedule and budget allow.
You may choose and test out at one of three levels-
!) Pilates Mat Instructor – Required modules Mat I and Mat II plus Mat test out - completion of all modules plus required practice teaching, observation and personal practice hours prior to test out)
2) Pilates Mat / Reformer Instructor – Required modules Mat I, Mat II, Reformer I, II and III and test out (you can start with either Reformer I OR Mat I – completion of all modules plus required practice teaching, observation and personal practice hours prior to test out) – 12 hour anatomy course also required if no prior anatomy education
3) Comprehensively Trained Pilates Instructor – Required modules – Mat I and II, Reformer I, II, III, Chair, Barrels and Cadillac / Tower plus test out – can begin at Mat I OR Reformer I module (completion of all modules plus required practice teaching, observation and personal practice hours prior to test out) – 12 hour anatormy course also required if no prior anatomy education
Note that all modules require additional purchase of required manual / DVD.
Total cost of modules depend on choice of level chosen (Mat only, Reformer / Mat only or Comprehensively Trained) and if trainee registers early in order to receive early bird discount available for most modules. For a Comprehensive Pilates training, estimated total cost of ENTIRE program in 2016 if trainee is able to register early is $3420 PLUS materials fee of $640. If early bird deadlines are missed, the total cost would be higher,
There is an additional test out fee depending on the level at which you test out. Note that Balanced Body allows you as much time as you need to take modules as your time and budget allows.
The CoreAlign Instructor Training program is separate and apart from the Pilates program. Two modules plus a test out are required – CoreAlign I Fundamentals and CoreAlign II Progressions. Manual / DVD materials required additional fee.

Balanced Body Anatomy in 3-D, May 6 – 7, 2016, Friday and Saturday, 10am to 6pm both days, $ 475 registration plus manual
This intensive, experiential workshop reviews the essentials of musculoskeletal anatomy and kinesiology as you build the major muscles used in movement on a specially designed skeleton. Understanding the body from the inside out allows you to see movement from a whole new perspective. Practical exercises to understand the function of each muscle and its use in Pilates are included to help you integrate the material. This is a great class for new and experienced instructors who want to improve their understanding of Anatomy and the body in motion. Combine Balanced Body Movement Principles, the power of aerobic conditioning and the balance and release exercises of a foam roller in this inspiring workshop. MOTR is a small, affordable piece of equipment that allows you to train your clients anywhere while focusing on key principles of alignment, balance, core control and functional movement patterns. Exercises vary easily to provide appropriate fitness challenges for clients at any level, from senior citizens to professional athletes. You will learn key positions and exercises as well as sequences and programming for private and group sessions.

Test Out Fees – Note that trainees may test out at one of three points (trainee may opt to wait to test out as comprehensive after all modules are completed)

If you have taken a Pilates Instructor Training module at Suncoast Pilates and wish to audit the same module an additional time, permission to audit and arrangements to audit are made through Suncoast Pilates. Auditing fees are $50 for one day or partial one day / $75 for two or partial two days / $100 for a three day or partial 3 days
Trainees who wish to do practice teaching hours at Suncoast Pilates may bring in practice volunteers by prearrangement with studio owner for fee to studio to use Pilates equipment. Must have student liability insurance, be approved to practice on volunteers and practice hours should be completed when Balanced Body Faculty are in studio. Contact Balanced Body Faculty / studio owner Patricia for fee schedule and arrangements.
Trainee observation hours may also be arranged, with fee for general observation. Fee will be waived for partial day if trainee is taking paid Private, Duet or Group equipment session for hour prior and after paid session. Rules of observation apply.
